Two-barred Flasher Butterfly

The Two-barred Flasher Butterfly (Astraptes fulgerator) is a skipper found from Argentina north through Central America to the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. It sometimes moves as far as central Texas and southeastern New Mexico. wings brown. The upperside of its body and basal part of wings are iridescent blue, shading to a deep dark brown.

Wing spread: 1 7/8" - 2 3/8"

Host plants: Coyotillo in Texas and Vitex in Mexico
