Crimson Patch

The Crimson Patch (Chlosyne janais) is mainly dark brown or black in color, with small white spots and a large orange-red patch on each wing.

It ranges from Colombia up into Mexico and Southern Texas. The Crimson Patch can often be found in forest edges and fields.

Wing spread: 1.8" - 2.0"
