Nature enthusiasts have access to a wide-range of excellent books on a variety of topics.
Our personal library covers a range of nature subjects, including butterflies, North American birding, hummingbirds, wildflowers, ferns, bird feeders/houses, and gardening.
Books on the market today vary in technical detail, geographic coverage, age and audience orientation.
We sorted through our bookshelves for some of our favorite nature books, and have included them in our Butterfly Store below on this page.
We all know that technology and the publishing industry are in a state of change. But birds are not!
One of the recent acquisitions to our nature library is the three-volume book set entitled "Birds of America". It was written by Frank G. Ashbrook, and illustrated by Paul Moller, and each book measures about 3.25" x 5.25". The series was published in 1931 by the Whitman Publishing Company, Racine, Wisconsin. The series includes The Blue Book, The Red Book, and The Green Book (see photo below).
